Yeah so this is a thread where you can talk about glitches in games you've encountered.
Whether it was beneficial, detrimental, or made you Laugh Out Loud, we'd love to hear about it.
Happy glitching! :)
K so I was playing through Metroid Prime 3: Corruption today, on Hyper difficulty (the hardest), and I got to the part where you have to fight Rundas the ice manipulater. Basically this is the first real boss fight in the game so it is supposed to be easy-ish. But in truth, even the game developers agree that on Hyper difficulty, it is actually the one of the hardest fights. Mr. Sirant knows.
Anyways, going into the fight expecting to get creamed, and at first it looked like I would. I get him down to half health, when I have little over a quarter of my own, and he pulls out the big guns (a gigantic ice-mace and homing missles). I say to myself "i'm gonna die," but continue fighting, refusing to back down. I stun him again, but he falls back towards a wall. I guess he took a step to far because he got kind of stuck there. Basically he couldn't move, he just stood there looking at me. I hadn't even fired a shot yet on his exposed body. I decided to test my luck. I walked away, blasted ice pillars to recover health and missles, then returned. there he was, unmoved. So I began to pelt him with bullets, single shot charge beams, to make sure his recoil movement would be limited. I stood there for another min and a half pumping him full of energy blasts untill he died.
:P!
BIGGEST STUPIDEST BOSS GLITCH I'VE EVER SEEN!
Without even breaking a sweat, this bad boy went down, and rather unceremoniously, as I shouted at the TV, "What a stupid, gay glitch! I actually don't even want to save now!"
Anyways, I decided to take advantage of the easy victory and saved.
So to Mr. Sirant, HOW'S THAT! Beat it first try! Eat my shorts! :P XD
NICE! That's a lucky glitch man!!! But yeah, it's probably a malfunction in the AI (Artificial Intelligence) coding, which can usually cause monsters, people, npcs, etc. to stop moving or to just "die". :P
Anyways, I think that was a pretty funny glitch - should've taken a video, haha.

On a completely different day from the post previous, I was playing through the game "The Hobbit" on my GC. (Game Cube.) On the ninth level, the one where you infiltrate Smaug's lair, I discovered a rather bizarre glitch which allows you to warp back outside of mount Erebor…
Basically it goes like this (and it works every time you try, trust me.) Once you get to the part where Smaug traps you inside the mountain, your objective will be to fill a chasm full of water to raise a bridge for the dwarves to cross over so they can get out. At this point it is best to explore the cave/palace for any undiscovered loot, including a couple of mini-quests resulting in huge xp bonuses.
While you are doing this, you may notice that there are some chandeliers hanging from the ceiling with lots of chests and courage points adorning them. That's right, you go get. Once you're up there though, make sure to save. Best idea is to save at the pedestil on the chandelier that isn't moving. Once you have collected everything and saved, you may begin experimenting with this glitch.
You will notice that at this stage in the level you cannot get back to the secret entrance where you start. Well we'll be going back there. Head over to the chandelier that is closest to being over the ravine (it doesn't really matter too much, but the closer you are the easier this works. Now, face the far wall of the ravine, or the exit (same spot). Execute a pole vualt (yes that's right) and fall into the ravine. Basically hold forward as long as you can. Either way, before you hit the ground make sure you are holding forward. If you do this right you should fall in between two rock faces at the bottom of the ravine, but instead of dieing like you would from a normal suicide like that, you will pass through the floor (or the wall, it's possible) and reappear outside of mount Erebor at the secret entrance where you started. All the dwarves will be there too, and will say the same thing they said the last time you spoke to them outside. However, the entrance of course is blocked, which is why you couldn't get out the normal way, so you will need to reload your game to return to wherever you last saved inside.
I found this glitch accidentally when I fell off that chandelier. I figured I was done for, but when the glitch happened I couldn't stop laughing. it made it all the sweeter because my friend was watching me do this, and when he saw what happened his jaw literally hit the floor before we suffered from a laughing spasm which lasted most of the night. LOL.
If anyone here owns the game TRY THIS! So hilarious.
If anyone here owns Twilight Princess, this little glitch/cheat/thing-a-ma-jig will help shorten the length of the fourth boss battle.
The fourth boss battle is the one in the Arbiter's Grounds dungeon, where Zant shows up to revive the ancient fossil-beast, Stallord. In the first form of this battle (all bosses have two) you ride on the spinner circling the pit looking for an opportunity to strike his backbone. After he is hit three times, his body will fall apart and the sand will sink, leaving just his head and you.
Then, after you raise the central platform, the head will revive and push you off the ledge.
Then you must ride the spinner tracks up the pillar to get to him while he shoots fireballs at you.
The first phase of this part is easy. Just ride on up, then jump across when he's about to attack you, repeating this until you collide with the head, stunning it and knocking it to the ground.
Then you must slash the shadow sword embeded in his skull to damage him.
This is where I found a glitch, or hidden manouver.
While attacking him, the easiest way to come at him is with standardized combo moves. 1, 2, 3, and 4. 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Do this for the first phase. you should get two complete sets off on him.
Now in the second phase, there will be spike-disks on the spinner track witch you must jump across to avoid. Just repeat the pattern untill you get to knocking his head down.
Now, while the head is on the ground, begin your combo move attacks.
BUT DO ONLY ONE!
Immediately after this do a spin-attack. The spin-attack will hit him up to 5 times with one strike, AND each of these hits does double damage.
Do One more and Stallord's head will explode, signifying the end of the battle.
Normally his second form has three phases, but by loading up the dammage on the second phase he will be ended sooner than normal.
This is because most enemies, including bosses, take recoil after getting hit with a spin-attack. Stallord though, is immoble while taking damage. His head is too heavy to really move.
Anyways, that's about the best one I've got for Twilight Princess… so far.
This one's really funny because I didn't do it… I watched my sister do it!
Basically she had a worm in one of her bottles in her inv. and she wanted to get rid of it.
So she dumped it out.
But that wasn't funny enough, I guess, so she scooped it back up and carried it over to a ledge.
She then dumped the thing out and watched it fall.
Kind funny watching flying worms.
Any ways, a little while later she came back to the same spot on top of the cliff.
When she got there the "scoop" action appeared for her now empty bottle.
Curious, as there was nothing to scoop up, she took the bottle out and used it.
A worm appeared in her bottle!
which she then dumped off the cliff again,
and which appeared again when she used the "scoop" action yet again on the same spot!
I have no idea how this happened, but hey it was hilarious to watch!
it would appear to me that I am the only one posting glitches on this thread.
Has my idea not caught on?
or has nobody had the fortune to experience such moments of video-game pandemonium?
or do we not play video games?
i dunno
c'mon!
Make something happen!
It's for everyone!
:D
Well, since I have a flashcard for my DS (you can edit, download, copy your game files and games), I can use this one file in accordance with some of the older games, such as Mario Kart DS. Using this, I can basically set the X, Y, Select, and L buttons to automatically spawn a desired item within my items slot. I could also unlock multiple awards and stuff, but that's just boring stuff. With this file, I can also manipulate some courses, which lead to my newly discovered "glitch". This glitch is basically a hidden course which was in the game for, perhaps, testing purposes. It's quite fun at first, simply because you can beat an entire 4 races in the matter of a seconds (each race repeats itself, and from start to finish takes 3 seconds, approximately). Though, the reward isn't as fun, because proceeding those three courses, the game automatically freezes. Bummer.
The second glitch that I've tried out, using the same cheat.dat file, was a max items/stats, X2 speed hack, and invisibility hack for The Legend Of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. There's not much to say about it; you start off the game with all bombs, bombchus, arrows, and your sword, and you can also try some sequence breaking due to the availability of these new items. It also makes the game really easy… Invincibility has its setbacks. :l

lol.
nice one.
any idea where I can get me some of this invincibility cake? :)
